JAMB Issues Guidelines for 2025 UTME/DE Profile Creation and Registration

JAMB Issues Guidelines for 2025 UTME/DE Profile Creation and Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued important information regarding the upcoming 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise. While the registration has not yet commenced, the board has provided key instructions for prospective candidates to prepare.

Key Instructions for Profile Creation

1. Obtain Your NIN

All candidates are required to have a National Identification Number (NIN) issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). This is mandatory for profile creation on the JAMB platform.

2. Use a Unique, Retrievable Phone Number

Candidates should use a phone number that has never been used on the JAMB platform. To create a profile, type "NIN" in capital letters, leave a space, then enter your 11-digit NIN. Send the text to either 55019 or 66019. For example:

NIN 12345678901

Send this message to either of the provided numbers.

3. Choose a Reliable Phone Number

Candidates are encouraged to use phone numbers belonging to close family members, such as a father or mother, especially if they are under 18 years old. This ensures easy recovery of the number in case the SIM card is lost or damaged.

4. Protect Your Profile Code

Once generated, the profile code serves as a unique identifier with the board. It is crucial to safeguard it as it cannot be replaced if lost.

Registration Not Yet Open

The board has clarified that registration for the 2025 UTME and DE has not yet commenced. Candidates are advised to remain patient, as further details on the registration process will be announced in due course.

Additional Recommendations

Candidates should keep their personal and contact information secure.

Ensure that all details provided during registration are accurate to avoid complications.

Monitor official JAMB channels for updates on registration and examination dates.

This preparatory guidance will help candidates streamline their registration process when it begins. Adhering to these instructions will also minimize errors and delays.
